Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Notare processes all audio and transcript data locally on your machine. We do not collect, transmit, store, or access your recordings, transcripts, case information, or any data generated through use of the software.

Data Processing

All transcription processing occurs on your local hardware. Audio files are never uploaded to our servers. If you choose to use a third-party transcription API (such as AssemblyAI), your audio is transmitted directly from your machine to that provider under their terms of service, not through us.

What We Collect

When you contact us through our website, we collect the information you voluntarily provide: your name, email address, organization, and message content. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.

We do not collect usage analytics, telemetry, or behavioral data from the Notare application.

Data Storage

All application data: jobs, profiles, transcripts, audio files, case information, and settings, is stored locally on the machine where Notare is installed. We have no access to this data.

Third-Party Services

If you configure Notare to use a third-party transcription engine (e.g., AssemblyAI, Deepgram), your audio data is transmitted to that provider for processing. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies. Notare's default local Whisper engine requires no external data transmission.

Security

Notare is designed for environments handling sensitive legal proceedings, including sealed cases and attorney-client privileged communications. The local-only architecture ensures that data security is maintained by your existing infrastructure controls, not by our policies.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the application and on this page.
